Your Bio

I love photography but it is kind of like golf... I'm never quite satisfied with the results! In my compulsion to improve my images, I take classes in photography and in art because seeing the photograph before you take it is 90% of the process.

Typically I will photograph just about anything but I seem to have more opportunities in nature photography. Anyway, shooting with a macro lens, close-up rings, or other means of close focusing is just plain fun. It also opens up some interesting possibilities.

Portrait photography really interesting but working with models is difficult for me. Fortunately, I know a couple of models who make it easier because they grew up being photographed by a parent who is a professional photographer.

My gallery has a lot of candid snapshots of dogs most of these are service dogs. If you are interested check out New Horizons Service Dogs on the web and on Facebook. Please consider contributing to the non-profit agencies that breed and train these wonderful animals especially New Horizons Service Dogs. Naturally, I contribute to New Horizons because I received both of my service dogs through them. New Horizons is a smaller agency than most but has the highest quality people and dogs.

Fantasia is my yellow lab (she appears in my portrait folder with me in a photograph by John Francis) and she was retired in April due to hip dysplasia although she doesn't think so. She is helping rehabilatate stroke and brain injured patients at Florida Hospital Winter Park. She is an active part of some patients' physical and occupational therapy working with my the patient under my wife's command.

Perdy, the georgeous Golden Retriever in my profile photo is three years old. He is also a New Horizons trained Golden Retriever and my newest constant companion and service dog (Photo by Martin Christopher).
